New Scans

Wednesday we met with the Doc who gave us decent news. Tumors have shrunk an additional 20%. Chemotherapy starts up again Monday. He hinted that leisa might get an extended break after about three more sessions. That will be very nice. The side effects seem to linger longer these days.

This whole cancer thing is getting very old. Please go away now. We've had enough. Nice of you to visit but get the %^$#@** out of here.

Thanks again for all the great meals, wonderful kindness, and prayers.

Leisa gets a break

We were sent home today without receiving chemotherapy because of a low platelet count. The Doc wants 80,000. Leis had only 55,000 but that was up from 25,000 last week. Tumor markers continue to decline and are down to 25, approaching the "normal range". CT scan has been moved up to Tuesday the 26th. The Doc sees us on the 27th. Who knows what great news we may get.

Sean shot a 67 yesterday at a not too easy course in VA. He's clearly cheating. Raegan continues to give us all the time we need from her. We have great kids, great friends, and are so grateful.

Really bad blogger

Well, folks, leisa is chemo-queen of the world and I am Chemo-sabe (you know, Lone Ranger...Tonto...). 10th treatment coming up next Wednesday after which new scans will be done (September 28). We will then know the state of the tumors and if chemotherapy will proceed or end.

All this depends on platelet counts and other things but I think we will proceed as outlined above.

As stated previously, there is really nothing to report these days. Leisa gets treated, feels like poo poo, rebounds, and gets treated again. We do venture out occasionally but we essentially have no life apart from the wonderful people who visit, bring food, and pray.

Tumor marker numbers are good but no one really knows their significance. People with low marker numbers still can have healthy tumors and people with big numbers can have small, weak tumors. Go figure.

I continue to ignore my wife and play golf with some regularity (and even go to work). Sean and Raegan are well. Molly is old.

Leisa sends her best to everyone. Thanks so much for all the wonderful support. Here's hoping there's an end in sight soon.
